Etiquette & FAQs

At SageHouse, we try to be transparent, fair, understanding and REAL. Please know that at the end of the day, we are trying to make an environment that is welcoming for all, while respecting our students and our staff and their time and energy. If you ever have issues or questions, please let us know how we can help!

Studio Etiquette

Before Class

Sign up for class a head of time to guarantee your spot. You can cancel a class 4+ hours before the class without penalty. If you cancel within 4 hours of class, there is a $10 late cancellation fee. If you do not show up for class, you will be charged $25 or lose a class credit. The reason we have these policies is to ensure space and hold people accountable, if you have something come up, text us before class so we can help get you rescheduled. We are not always able to answer the phone, but will get back to you as soon as we can!

A waiver must be signed prior to class, no exceptions. If you do not finish your waiver online prior to class, please arrive early to complete your waiver at the studio before class starts.

Arrive early to give yourself time to settle into the studio. We are on the second floor, you can use the elevator or stairs to find us. Sometimes, your teacher will also be the one checking students in and will need to lock the door on time to start class, so please arrive early so that you aren’t locked out.

Safety is super important to us, we lock our doors when needed for classes. If you are unable to make class start time, reach out so we can help get you rescheduled. We do not allow anyone in to class over 5 minutes late, and late entry depends on if someone is available to let you in. Please be aware, this can be very disruptive to the teacher, the flow of class and other students and there will not always be someone at the front desk able to answer the phone.

While we do not require silence in our rooms, we do ask that you be mindful of the people around you. If any talking is happening before class, keep it soft to respect others that might be in the room trying to center before class. You are welcome to hangout in the lobby before and after class and catch up with friends! Also, we ask to be mindful of your clothing, yoga mat and yoga supplies and make sure they are free of smells and odor.

During Class

We encourage you to listen to your body while you move through class. This could be adding on or taking away, it’s your practice, and we want you to feel comfortable enough to make the right choices for you! We do ask that you are aware of your surroundings and respect the other students and their space, and the teacher guiding you through practice.

Please limit distractions during class for yourself and for others. This includes talking during class, being on your phone or having your phone or watch make noises. We encourage keeping everything in a locker outside of the studio rooms. We do not allow video recording during class unless you've received permission prior to attending the class.

After Class

Return items back where you found them. We have lots of classes with props and weights, and we expect everyone to treat our items with kindness and respect, ESPECIALLY our weights.

We have spaces to return any and all borrowed items including mats and towels. We will charge the card on file if any rented items are taken out of the studio for the amount of the item and a restocking fee.

If you are showering, we ask that you limit your shower to five minutes so that others can also use the facilities. A reminder that we also have bathrooms available down the hall before you reach Howard Bailey that are open to all SageHouse students.

If you purchase a membership/ class pack with us, or take a class, you should receive an email directly from Momence with directions to find the app!

We are located in Carmel above Panera, Cinnaholic and The Great Greek. Our downstairs entrance is located near City BBQ and Panera's drive thru exit and labeled with our logo and our address, 1344. We share the second floor with Howard Bailey Financial. You are able to enter the downstairs lobby and use the elevator or stairs to find us on the second floor.

What are the different rooms?

SageHouse has many rooms! Our studio spaces are: The Sun Room, The Moon Room and The Stars Room. Each room has its own vibe and are labeled so they are easy to find. If you ever need directions, feel free to ask the person at the desk!

Are you on ClassPass?

No, we are not on Class Pass. We have set our prices to pay our teachers a fair rate and stand behind our pricing to be able to provide the best classes for all of our students.

Is there a sign on fee or long term commitment?

We want you to want to practice with us and do not require any long term agreements or sign on fees. You are able to cancel your monthly membership anytime before your next payment is due. We do ask to give us a few days to be able to process your request. All class credits, class packs and annual or monthly membership sales are final, but you are welcome to share class credits or gift the remainder of your membership to someone else. We will work with you, just reach out!

Do you provide yoga mats and props?

We have mat and mat towels available for rent at the front desk. A mat is $3 and a mat towel is $2, both items together is $5. Mats are required in all classes.

Your card on file will be charged for rentals.

Dry sweat towels are available for no charge.

We provide all props needed for class including: blocks, weights, straps and bolsters. Your teacher will let you know before class what items you will need, and you can always grab any extra props that you want to use for your practice.

What do I wear and how do I prepare?

Comfort is key here! For our more high intensity classes, be prepared to move and sweat and come hydrated! For our more chill classes, wear what you will be most comfortable in laying down and finding lighter movements (in a non-heated space).

Hydration comes before the class, so be prepared! Water bottles are welcome in classes and we have a water fill up station. Also, we recommend giving yourself a couple of hours between your last meal and your practice.

Do you have showers?

Yes! We have showers and we also have extra bathrooms down the hall from our space that any of our students are welcome to use!

Are all your classes heated?

No! We offer heated and non-heated classes and give a variety of options during peak class times so everyone has the chance to really find what they need that day. While booking, each class description will have the temperature and intensity level to help you navigate! Any classes in the Stars Room or Moon Room are not heated, the Sun Room is our heated space!

Do you offer a free first class?

No, we do not offer a free first class. For us to offer amazing classes with incredible teachers (with hundreds of hours of training), we need to be compensated for all our time and energy!  We have intro offers available for anyone who wants to try out our studio and support our small, local business that includes two weeks of unlimited classes for $49 or first class for $5. To support our community, we frequently host donation based classes and try to host a free community class monthly, feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Late fees?

You can cancel your classes 4+ hours before the class starts. If you cancel your class within 4 hours (or less) of your class, the system will automatically charge you $10. If you no show for a class you will lose the credit for the class or be charged $25 if you have a membership. This policy is in place to hold people accountable and to ensure space for everyone in the class. We are human and understand that things happen, please text if you have an emergency and need to be removed from class prior to it starting. And as always, if you are sick, please stay home.
